Historical Restoration
San Jose, CARestoring a home built a century ago requires a special attention to detail. Aware of the prairie style home’s historical significance, Ammirato Construction restored the original beauty of the home while bringing the building up to code. All existing cast columns were successfully saved and restored. We duplicated the historical fluted bowls by creating casting molds from museum quality bowls that had been created from horse hair and plaster. Blending modern improvements with historical character, Ammirato Construction installed modern accent lighting, a new IB roof system complete with solar roof fans and concealed drains. The drains originally ran on the outside of the bowls and columns, taking away from their beauty and presence.
